Emergency Or Urgent Repairs

Repairs of this nature are classed according to their priority; details are given below:

Emergency Repairs: within 2 hours.

Priority Zero covers emergency repairs that are classed as those that may put life, or the property at risk if they are not attended to as quickly as possible, examples are:

• Water leaks from heating pipes, tank or system where the flow of water cannot be controlled.

• Water leaks from the domestic plumbing system where the flow of water cannot be controlled.

• Gas leaks or suspected gas leaks.

• Blocked flue to an solid fuel open fire or boiler.

• Severe water penetration-causing the home to flood or water through electric sockets and light fittings.

• Serious electrical faults, or water leaking into sockets or light fittings.

• Complete lighting failure in shared areas.

• Insecure ground floor outside window doors or lock.

• Breakdown of heating where you have no other form of heating between November 1st and March 1st.

• Breakdown of heating, where you have no other heating, and are suffering ill health or there is a young child in your home.

• Blocked or leaking drains or sinks in flat blocks, where there is a risk of flooding.

• No useable toilet due to a fault or blockage.

If the repair work cannot be completed within 2 hours, your home will be made safe and an order will then be placed to complete the work within a reasonable timescale.

Reporting Repairs

If you feel something is an emergency it can be reported out of hours by telephoning 0800 652 7919.

Non-Urgent repairs can be reported during office hours, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm on 0800 652 7919 and selecting the repair option. The dedicated Repairs Contact Centre staff will deal with your call.

When you report a repair, or ask someone else to report it for you, please give as much information as possible.

We will need to know:

• Your full address including your postcode.

• A phone number where we can contact you.

• Times when there will be someone at home to allow us to carry out an inspection or carry out a repair.

• As much information about the repair as possible.
